At a whopping 5.00 carats, on the nose, this is one of the largest Montana sapphires from my personal collection. My significant other and I personally mined this gem at the Blue Jewel Mine in Montana during one of our favorite adventures.
The stone displays a rich, beautiful Montana blue and has the kind of substantial size that immediately sparks the imagination of both collectors and gem cutters. Whether it's kept in it's natural state, or transformed into a finished gemstone, a sapphire of this size is exciting!
Upon visual inspection, the crystal there appears to possibly be one small surface-reaching fracture along one side. Aside from that, it presents as a well-formed crystal with excellent overall integrity. As with all rough gemstones, I encourage buyers to carefully examine the photos carefully.
